Reggie Talks Wii U Pricing, Holiday Sales

Nintendo of America Big Cheese Reggie Fils-Aime, our favorite video game related celeb, sat down to talk about future pricing for the upcoming Wii U, the successor to the Wii that’s due sometime next year, as well as Nintendo’s performance during the holiday period. Not much in the way of big exciting news, but he reiterated that Wii U will probably be more expensive than Wii. Of course, what’s interesting to note is that he made this statement with reference to the current pricing…make of that what you will.

Check out his full statement.

Hyrule Historia Timeline: A Visual Representation

Despite inconsistencies and oddities, it seems the Hyrule Historia timeline is the real deal, at least until Nintendo says otherwise.

We’ll have plenty of articles on the topic come New Years, when ZeldaInformer is back up and running, but, until then, I’ve made a graphic for the new timeline, to help all you visual thinkers out there.

Hyrule Historia Timeline Details Spilled, Everything You Need to Know about the Third Branch

That Zelda timeline we posted yesterday? Yeah, it’s basically been confirmed, courtesy of resident translator and longtime Zelda community member GlitterBerri. It’s true – the timeline is a three-branch one, with the traditional Adult and Child split we all know and love founded in Ocarina of Time, plus an alternate story that has Link fail to defeat Ganon in the future, thus leading to the events that conclude the Imprisoning War.

Classic Tales: A Link to the PastOraclesLink’s AwakeningThe Legend of ZeldaThe Adventure of Link
Child Tales: Majora’s MaskTwilight PrincessFour Swords Adventures

What we didn’t have was a specific explanation concerning the Classic timeline including A Link to the Past…until now.

Swapnote Launches in eShop Worldwide

Swapnote for the Nintendo 3DS is available as of today in Japan, Europe, and North America today. The application can be downloaded for free in the eShop.

As a reminder, Swapnote is a little application that allows you to send messages to your friends. Instead of plain textual messages, you write the notes out using the stylus, meaning that you can send doodles as well as text.

IGN: Ocarina of Time vs. Skyward Sword

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword has been out for awhile now, and a good chunk of the fandom has beaten it. Some have even beaten it twice through Hero Mode. So the time has come to decide whether or not Skyward Sword has surpassed Ocarina of Time is the best Zelda game ever made.

IGN has already asked the question and are asking fans to vote. They are comparing the games through four main categories: controls, equipment, bosses, and story.

Zelda 25th Anniversary T-Shirt Shipping Worldwide

Nintendo recently unveiled a special 25th Anniversary t-shirt for The Legend of Zelda. The shirt is being produced by The King of Games and will ship worldwide.

Unfortunately, just because the shirt will be available to those in North America, Europe, and Australia, doesn’t mean the price of the product will adjusted per region.

I contacted the English branch of The King of Games last night, and they have since replied that the shirt will cost the same as in does in Japan, plus shipping. In other words, 5500 ¥ ($70) with estimated shipping to the US at approximately 1500 ¥ ($20) for a total of 7000 ¥ ($90).

Skyward Sword Piano Arrangement Book Follow-Up; Listen to Included CD Piano Tracks

Remember that Skyward Sword piano arrangement book we reported on awhile back? Well, I remembered it today and wondered if it had already come out and what music the book, and included CD, featured.

It turns out that the book isn’t so much a sheet music book, as it is a fan book that happens to have sheet music in it.

Rumor: Full Hyrule Historia Timeline Confirmed?

It’s [allegedly] here, folks: the full Zelda timeline. Well, sort of. I have to qualify this as a rumor because this report is from a secondhand source that hasn’t provided scans or a direct translation of the full timeline, just a chart detailing an interpretation of the information present in the Hyrule Historia timeline description. This full timeline report comes from a Korean site, Ruliweb, but as soon as we spot the actual pages involved and translate for ourselves we’ll get the full scoop.

For now, jump inside to see this [supposed] timeline.
