 Nintendo recently unveiled a special 25th Anniversary t-shirt for The Legend of Zelda. The shirt is being produced by The King of Games and will ship worldwide.

Unfortunately, just because the shirt will be available to those in North America, Europe, and Australia, doesn’t mean the price of the product will adjusted per region.

I contacted the English branch of The King of Games last night, and they have since replied that the shirt will cost the same as in does in Japan, plus shipping. In other words, 5500 ¥ ($70) with estimated shipping to the US at approximately 1500 ¥ ($20) for a total of 7000 ¥ ($90).

Thanks, but no thanks. I get that it is a special edition (and beautiful) and will only ever be printed once, but the exchange rate makes it too expensive. I’m sure the price is reasonable for those in Japan, but not for those outside.

The shirt itself will be available for worldwide pre-order starting December 24th, and continue through February 20th. The shirts will then ship (in a special golden box) sometime in May 2012.

As you can see from the below gallery, the shirt will be available in two colors: green and black. It will feature a Zelda 25th Anniversary logo on the back, a design on the sleeve, and a design on the front depicting a Hylian Sheild and the Master Sword covered in vines and adorned with banners representing the three pieces of the Triforce.
